the edition issued in 1586-1588, of the collection of homelies on each day of the year by the Spanish
ascetic theologian Luis of Grenada, who became a Dominican at Grenada in 1525 and studied in Valladolid
from 1529 till 1534. From 1534 till 1545, he was in a convent near Cordua where he met the famous Juan
of Avila. He was appointed provincial of this order for the Portuguese province in 1556. His works have had
a major influence on Charles Borromée and François de Salles, who wrote in 1603 to a bishop: ?Ayez
Grenade tout entier, et que ce soit votre second bréviaire; il dressera votre esprit à l?amour de la vraie
dévotion et à tous les exercices spirituels qui vous sont nécessaires?.The present Conciones de tempore
were first issued by Plantin in 1577-1579 in three volumes, and reprinted in 1581, 1583-1584 and
1586-1588. Each volume was sold separately, which explains why there are no complete copies known of
